Despair -Loss or absence of hope.

Sometimes in life it’s so hard to separate the woods from the trees.

You feel stuck and confused.

You are tired of keeping on

You feel what’s the point to this life.

It’s feels like a journey on a treadmill.

When do you get off.

We all have this feeling at one point or the other in life.

So, how does one get out of this horrible pit of despair, I ask?

GRATITUDE!!! It lifts you out of the pits of despair and confirms there is hope for another day. (Adeboun Atunwa.)

As a popular Christian songs goes

‘Count your blessings

Name them one by one

Count your blessings

See what God has done

Count your blessings

Name then one by one

And it will surprise you, what the Lord has done’.

It is a very hard task to list your blessings, when you are feeling discouraged. But once you start, you gradually remember more things. As you continue to list them, your focus is shifted to trying to remember more things to be grateful for.

Remember a feeling / an emotion is an indicator.

So what is the feeling of despair telling you at that point in time?

Could it be, you are slightly disconnected from God your source?

Are you missing quiet time with him?

Or just generally overwhelmed with life?

Whatever the case might be, gratitude moves you out of the pit and closer to God our father.

We then can pour out our hearts to him, lean on him.

Let him love on us and feel his warm embrace of love, peace and grace.

Today I encourage you, whatever you are facing right now. God loves you.

As you go through your mental gratitude list.

It will show you what God has done in the past and confirm to you, he is always there with you and for you.

No matter how bleak it seems. There is always tomorrow and with it comes hope, opportunity.

Trust God, it will be okay.

It just seems to be taking a while for it to manifest.

Be rest assured it will be okay.

As always thank for reading, I hope it blesses you. Please comment below and share.

here are some bible verses to encourage you below.

2 Corinthians 4:8- We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair.

Psalm 143:4-6 – So I am ready to give up; I am in deep despair.I remember the days gone by; I think about all that you have done, I bring to mind all your deeds. I lift up my hands to you in prayer; like dry ground my soul is thirsty for you.

Psalm 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
