Dear Married Single Parent.

No one acknowledges how hard you work to keep things going

No one really celebrates you

No one truly understands your fears

No one sees the insecurity and second guessing going on in your mind

No one truly understands your pain.

But I’m here to tell you someone cares

Someone does see all the pain and struggles

God does and he is saying to you

I love you and thank you for the hard work

The married don’t fully accept you

Therefore, find it awkward trying to invite you to events, some do but very few

The single or single parents don’t accept you, probably silently resent you

You are neither here nor there

So I say accept yourself

Find yourself

How? you say to yourself

Find God

Find and understand your identity in him

Then only can you and will you truly find yourself

Only then do you start seeing yourself through the eyes of God-his perspective

His perspective of love, grace and mercy

He will give you the inner strength to deal will with whatever life throws at you

His grace is sufficient for you

He will never leave you nor forsake you

Few practical steps  to help with your journey

Take time to rest

Take time to reflect- don’t forget you are doing a 2-man job

Take time to laugh

Stop and enjoy the kids, the ones you are trying so hard to raise

Life is not all about homework, housework, school run, shopping, work and making things tick along

STOP!

And Breathe

Don’t let life pass you by.

Tell yourself every morning when you wake up

I AM ENOUGH

I AM WORTHY OF LOVE

I AM STRONG

I AM ME!
